Russell Schwartz Reflects on Challenges in Bioinformatics Education

Russell Schwartz, Department Head and Professor in the Computational Biology Department (CBD), is part of an international consortium of bioinformatics educators who have published a paper in Nature Biotechnology seeking to identify some of the biggest challenges in bioinformatics education and training in the coming years.
In the paper, Schwartz and his colleagues outline seven “grand challenges” bioinformatics educators and trainers are likely to face over the next 10-20 years, along with providing suggestions for a path forward towards addressing them.
